This client's brief included the request to have a morning coffee area, as well as a BBQ dining area and to improve the view from the house. They also wanted to build the garden themselves so that was taken into account in the design.
This small back garden had been well used but it was time for a revamp. The client wanted to have a holiday feel to the garden and so materials and plants with a Mediterranean feel were used.
This village home was in need of an injection of colour and beauty to replace the existing tired and dying shrubs. A cottage garden look with all year round interest was created and it will only get better as the years progress.
Beaconsfield Grand Garden
The aim of this design was to link the existing patio at the back of the house to the pool house. I broke up the large garden into distinct areas with a veg growing area, poolside patio, woodland walk and zen garden all linked by a bound gravel path.
Front Garden Revamp
The front garden of this bungalow was full of weeds and overgrown shrubs when I first saw it. The owners wanted a refreshed look with planting that was easy to maintain and looked good from the path.
Planting All Around
With newly finished hard landscaping in place, this client needed help to plan the planting for the front and back of their house. The front garden planting had a traditional cottage garden look to suit the house and the back garden had a slight tropical look with pops of bright colours.
After fully renovating their 60s bungalow, this client turned their attention to the overgrown, mature garden. Whilst trying to keep some of the lovely mature shrubs and trees, additional planting was added in to refresh and modernise the garden and to encourage more wildlife.
Modern Family Garden
This recent design is due to be built in 2025 and features a secluded firepit area, patio, an area for growing veg, large lawn and a hidden play area and shed. Everything a young family needs to enjoy time outside together.
After having their hard landscaping redone, this large garden was in need of planting design. The garden is overshadowed by a huge pine tree which take a lot of the moisture so some clever design work was needed to choose suitable plants.
This long and thin back garden was a challenge in that the client specifically wanted a pergola to attach 16 solar panels to. A large pergola seating area and walkway was designed with space for all 16 solar panels. Two new trees were planted on the other side of the garden to balance out the height of the pergola. Ornamental grasses and perennials were useed throughout to soften the hard lanscaping.
This new build property in Whitchurch benefitted from a large L-shaped garden and so the opportunity to use plants for full sun and shade. The purple, pink and white scheme fits in well to the traditional countryside setting.
Modern & Low Maintenance
This recent design has been created to compliment the client's new modern extension. The brief was to improve the view from the new extension as well as creating a wow factor and still being low maintenance.
This design shows that even with a small budget, you can improve your garden a huge amount. The garden was transformed with two separate seating areas, a pergola, raised beds and planting.
The planting for this garden had to be suitable for a dog that liked to eat everything! All plants were checked to make sure they weren't toxic to dogs. The colourful, naturalistic planting softened the dark hard landscaping.
